It almost seems like a sin to be posting when I have so much to do: I have a seminar paper to rewrite, a whole semester's worth of notes on Early Netherlandish Painting to review, a small book review to write (um, and the book to read through first!), a cover letter and curriculum vitae to edit and then send out, and finally work on some project ideas for my current job. All of which has been to be completed sometime in December along with holiday planning. I must admit I am baffled at how academics do all of this on a regular basis (and more) without going insane.
If you're wondering at the marked change in topic of my blog it's simply because I've started a doctoral program and had to refocus on another area of study: Renaissance art instead of Classical art. Let's not even go there on the reasons why - just accept that I'm quite happy with the change just feeling a bit overwhelmed. Please feel free to render advice, Academic Readers, on how one best manages these things. Right now I'm living by the credo that continuous work will win out the day and eventually it will be done and hopefully done well.
